CBOS Tightens Oversight of Foreign Capital Flows

Khartoum – Fatah Al-Rahman Zlfou

The Central Bank of Sudan (CBOS) has announced the launch of its electronic capital flows system as part of efforts to accelerate digital transformation and modernize regulatory procedures.

The system is designed to automate procedures for foreign investors and facilitate their electronic processing and tracking through the CBOS online portal.

The launch marks a significant step toward strengthening oversight of foreign capital flows by documenting the full administrative cycle of foreign investments, from capital registration and subsequent additions to profit and loan transfers, through to the repatriation of foreign capital.fjajpress

The system also provides CBOS with a unified database of foreign investments, covering investor details, sectors, countries, capital and financial flows. This is expected to support decision-making, improve the quality of statistics and reports on foreign investment and the balance of payments, and contribute to monetary stability.

Commercial bank employees have received advanced training on the system and its various stages ahead of its official launch and implementation.
