Initiative Launched to Create Conditions for Inclusive Sudanese Dialogue

An initiative aimed at creating the conditions for Sudanese-Sudanese dialogue was launched at a press conference held at the Al Salam Rotana Hotel, attended by political, intellectual, civil society and media figures.
The initiative said its efforts would focus on building trust among Sudanese people and creating a conducive environment for an inclusive and independent national dialogue. It said the dialogue seeks to address the root causes of the crisis and pave the way for a political settlement that meets Sudanese aspirations for security, peace, stability and development.
Suleiman Al-Amin, a member of the preparatory committee, said the initiative was launched in response to the circumstances facing Sudan as a result of the war and its repercussions. He explained that the committee would conduct consultations with various political, civil and community forces both inside and outside the country.
He added that the consultations aim to establish common ground on the terms, methodology and guarantees of the dialogue, while emphasizing that no pre-set agenda should be imposed and that Sudanese people must retain the right to determine their own political future.
The committee is chaired by Professor Qasim Badri and includes academic, intellectual and political figures from Sudan and abroad.
The initiative stressed the importance of providing a safe environment for participants, safeguarding public freedoms and ensuring the independence of the dialogue, while preventing any interference in or influence over its outcomes.
It further emphasized that overcoming Sudan’s crisis requires an inclusive national process based on dialogue and consensus, leading to peace and stability and a transitional period culminating in free elections.
